French-born Ghanaian striker Grejohn Kyei showcased his prowess on the field, leading Clermont Foot to a remarkable victory over Stade Reims in the French Ligue 1.
Taking the field from the start, the 28-year-old played a pivotal role as his team secured a convincing 4-1 triumph on their home ground on Sunday.
Kyei’s standout performance included a crucial assist, contributing significantly to Clermont Foot’s dominant display against Reims at the Stade Gabriel-Montpied.
The home side drew first blood in the 31st minute, courtesy of Muhammed-Cham Saracevic’s spot-kick conversion, but Reims swiftly responded with an equalizer from Keito Nakamura just two minutes later.
As both teams headed into halftime with the score level, the encounter remained finely poised.
However, Clermont Foot showcased their determination and quality in the second half, seizing control of the match to secure a well-deserved victory and claim all three points on offer.
Continuing his impressive performance, Saracevic found the back of the net once again from the penalty spot in the 56th minute, propelling his team into the lead.
Kosovo international Elbasan Rashani emerged as a key figure in the crucial contest, netting twice to seal the victory for the hosts. Rashani capitalized on a setup by Kyei to score his side’s third goal in the 79th minute before adding another in stoppage time to confirm Clermont Foot’s triumph.
With this stellar display, Kyei has now contributed two goals and an assist in 23 appearances in the French Ligue 1, further establishing his impact on the pitch.
