Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer, the forward for Hamburger SV, has expressed his heartfelt appreciation for Ghana’s captain, Andre Ayew, for his assistance in helping him integrate into the national squad after switching nationalities.
The 21-year-old, who was born in Germany but is of Ghanaian descent, credits Ayew with playing a pivotal role in making him feel welcomed and valued within the team.
Konigsdorffer acknowledges Ayew’s caring nature and emphasizes how the experienced forward has consistently been there to offer support whenever he faced challenges.
During an interview with GhanaWeb, Konigsdorffer spoke highly of Ayew’s guidance, stating, “The most I will say is Andre Ayew. He cares about me, he helps me. When I have problems he talks to me so he helps me the most.
Having completed his nationality switch in June 2022, Konigsdorffer added that representing Ghana has always been a lifelong dream for him. Therefore, he readily accepted the proposal from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) without any hesitation.
“The first call was in February 2022. When I got the first call they asked me if I want to come to Ghana and I said directly let’s do it. I always said that if I get the chance I want to play for my home country.”
