Former Cameroonian superstar Samuel Eto’o has shared his opinion on Kylian Mbappe’s imminent move to Real Madrid in the 2024 Summer.
“Kylian Mbappé is the best player in the world,” said the FECAFOOT president.
“I am a Parisian supporter and it is obvious that I would have liked to see Kylian in Paris again but I respect and I do not need to understand his decision. Real Madrid? It’s his career. He makes decisions based on the vision he has for his career,” added Eto’o.
The former Barcelona and Inter Milan strike revealed his affection for PSG and his wish to have seen Mbapppe continue for PSG. Eto’o indicated that he respects Kylian’s decision as it is his career and hence he has the right to choose the club that will suit him.
“I’ve been there, I’ve made decisions that didn’t please my late father. I remember when I left Real Madrid for Mallorca. My dad didn’t understand. He told me that Real Madrid is very big. Why are you going to a small club that we don’t know? And then the future proved us right. We make choices and we accept them,” added Samuel Eto’o.
Eto’o joined Real Mallorca from Real Madrid in the early days of his career before moving to Barcelona where the whole world saw the kind of footballer he is.
Kylian Mbappe has informed PSG authorities that he will not renew his contract which is due to expire in the 2024 Summer. It is believed he will sign for Real Madrid as a free agent.
