After the high of Saturday’s win away at Wycombe, it was imperative that the Royals continued the momentum by backing up the result against Carlisle United.
An emphatic 5-1 win did that, with captain Andy Yiadom full of praise for his side’s determination, and the performances of the three goalscorers.
The Ghanaian defender said: “It feels good to finally to win two games on the bounce, and score five at home as well.
“We went to Wycombe away and we managed to get three points there, everyone grafter and worked hard, so to back it up today, everyone is pleased and the changing room is rocking.
“Sometimes we are at our own fault by conceding soon after we score, so I told everyone to focus and gather thier thoughts so the same thing doesn’t happen again.
“It was a bit of magic I would say on the edge of the box for Knibbs to find the bottom corner,.
“He deserves it because he has been working really hard, all of the boys are pleased for him and it helps the team.
“When we came out after half-time I don’t think we started that well, and it took a while for us to get going, but we rode the wave and managed to get another goal.
“Wingy has been on fire as well, scored against Wycombe and that finish today was awesome.
“On the training ground Femi is always out doing extra, on Saturday he got two assists and it was good for him to score today.”
Back-to-back wins in the league offers some positivity after a difficult recent period, with two cup game now to look forward to.
Yiadom is relishing the trip to Eastleigh on Sunday, but knows the potential danger the Spitfires could pose.
He continued: “We are just taking it a game at a time and we can’t get too ahead of ourselves.
“I know it is really good that we have won two games on the trot, but we need to focus, regather ourselves, and go again.
“It’ll be a tough game, they will be up for it, so on Sunday we just need to stay focused to get the result.
“We have just got to stay positive, and work hard when we are back on the training pitch, just full focus on Sunday.
“Non-league is where I started off my career, it will be good to go back and get that feeling again.
“We have still got a few old heads in the team, who also help the young boys, so as a squad, as a team, everyone puts in their quality and attributes into the team to help us grow.
“It’s just about getting our name in the next round.”
