Ghanaian midfielder, James Akaminko has let the ‘cat out of the box’ after his move to Tunisian team US Tataouine hit the rocks just three weeks after signing for them.
The Ghanaian international in an exclusive with Sunyani-based Nimde3 FM revealed the reason behind his decision to leave Tunisia and return to Ghana just three weeks after his unveiling by the club.
According to the former Ashantigold SC player, the club cut the ties with him not based on his performance but rather on other matters.
“I was not sacked by the club because I couldn’t play as reported by some media houses in the country.”
“I left Tunisia because the coach who signed me up for the club left and his replacement wanted me to undergo trials off which I refuted and led to the termination of my deal with the team”, he noted.
On the other hand, the former Tema Youth product states emphatically that, he’s not a player who would have to go through trials at a Tunisian club.
“You know me and you know what I can do as a footballer and I don’t think a player of my calibre should accept to go do trials in Tunisia and that forms part of the reason why I decided to not do the trials at the club”.
Furthermore, the Black Stars B player said he’s not going to be affected by this unfortunate experience in Tunisia and is ready to take his game to the next level despite his predicament in Tunisia.
“I am not going to be affected in any way with this, and I am ready to take my game to the next level to ensure that whatever I want to achieve as a player come to pass no matter what has happened because I am not bothered so much”, he answered to a question.
“I am now discussing things with my agent and family to see the best possible way forward”, he added.
Akaminko was on the radars of Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko SC and Accra Hearts of Oak as well as ‘Billionaires’ Legon Cities FC before his move abroad and could end up at one of the Premier League teams in Ghana before the transfer window close on Oct 31.
