Newport County first team head coach Jared Harvey has applauded Omar Bogle despite his barren run in goals scoring.
The Ghanaian attacker has not scored in his last six games for the League 2 side and Harvey maintains that he still has lots of hope in him.
“I have known Omar for a number of years, he is an experienced player and a great lad,” said first team coach Jarred Harvey. “We are all completely behind him in terms of any criticism he gets.
“That would go for any player or member of staff – we stick together and are a strong group who have got each other’s backs.”
“One thing that I do know about Omar is that he’s not one to chuck the towel in; he might be having a little bit of a dry spell but he’s a nightmare to play against.
“He occupies defenders with his sheer physicality and presence on the pitch – speak to any defender in the league and they would say they wouldn’t like to be playing against him, regardless of him getting his goals.
“Some players down tools when they are getting criticism but not Omar, he is putting the extra work in on the training pitch to put things right. I am sure he will turn the corner very quickly.”He added
