Newly signed striker, Saddick Adams has urged supporters of the club to exercise restraint as he catches up with the playing style of his teammates, and not just that, but also the philosophy of Coach Steven Polack.
The former Berekum Chelsea goal poacher sealed a two-year move to Kotoko weeks back. He however joined his teammates at Adako Jachie on Wednesday.
Kotoko ended the first half of the 2016/17 Premier League at 7th position on the back of an eight-match winless streak which got everyone in the team worried. Management in their bid to turn things around positively have changed the technical direction of the team as well as recruited some new players – namely Collins Ameyaw and Augustine Sefa with Saddick Adams formally showing up for training this week.
When asked if he needed time to adjust to the life and demands at Kotoko, Saddick Adams answered in the affirmative despite pointing out that, he already has familiarity with some of the players. “Yes, but I have played with some of the players when I was at Chelsea last two seasons” he told Asantekotokosc.com in an interview conducted after his first training session.
“But, it won’t be easy being with new players; a new team and a new formation. I saw the happiness in the players; the team work, and I feel happy being here” he said. Kotoko are at home to Great Olympics on Sunday. Coach Steven Polack will decide if Saddick will make the team. Although Saddick hasn’t set specific targets, he desires to score to help the team to win.
“I don’t think the team has a problem with attack. People say this when a team doesn’t win matches. The most important thing in football is the three points; it doesn’t matter who scores. I’m here to help the team. If it happens that I score goals to help us win; that’s fair enough. But I don’t want a situation whereby I will score and we would lose” he concluded.
