Ebbsfleet United have confirmed the signing of Kwesi Appiah, one of the top scorers from the National League South last season.
The 33-year-old Ghanaian international scored an impressive 24 goals for Boreham Wood, helping them earn promotion back to the National League.
Appiah, who began his football journey in Fleet’s youth academy, now returns to the Kuflink Stadium after more than 15 years away. He made his first-team debut at just 17 years old in the Kent Senior Cup in 2007 and scored in his league debut the following season.
A Remarkable Career Journey
After showing early promise, Appiah was signed by Peterborough United in 2008. He later became a star in non-league football, especially at Kings Lynn Town and Margate, where he scored 35 goals in 34 games during the 2011/12 season.
That form earned him a move to Crystal Palace in January 2012. While at Palace, Appiah had loan spells at several EFL clubs, including Yeovil Town, Cambridge United, Notts County, and Reading.
In 2015, he made his international debut for Ghana, going on to earn 15 caps and scoring his first goal in the Africa Cup of Nations, where he played in the final.
He later played for AFC Wimbledon, spending three seasons in League One, before having spells in India, at Crawley Town, Colchester United, and most recently, Boreham Wood.

Speaking to FleetTV, Appiah shared his excitement about returning:
“I cherished starting my career here and it was a really important ingredient in coming back. I’m extremely proud of that journey because it set me up to be the person I am today… I’m hoping to achieve a very successful season for the team and the club. It’s going to be a really solid group with a good dynamic.”
