Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has set his sights on leading the club to domestic success and CAF Champions League qualification despite their recent FA Cup disappointment.
The Phobians were eliminated from the MTN FA Cup by Division One side Golden Kick, leaving the Ghana Premier League as their only remaining chance at silverware this season. They currently sit fourth on the league table with 33 points, just one point behind the leaders after 19 matches.
Despite the FA Cup setback, Ouattara remains confident in his team’s ability to challenge for the league title and secure a return to continental competition.
Speaking to Asempa FM, the Ivorian tactician emphasized his ambition to restore Hearts of Oak’s dominance.
“My target for Hearts of Oak is to win a domestic trophy, qualify for Africa, achieve a glorious name, and move forward. This is my focus,” Ouattara stated.
“To compete in Africa, you need to win the league or a trophy in Ghana before earning that opportunity. So, let us work on it and move forward. For Hearts of Oak, the future is bright.”
With the title race still wide open, Ouattara and his squad will be aiming for a strong finish to the season to bring silverware back to the club and secure a place in next season’s CAF Champions League.
