Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh has expressed his belief that the red card shown to defender Henry Ansu was harsh, as the player had the right to voice his complaints to the referee.
The incident occurred during Asante Kotoko’s match against Nsoatreman on Matchweek eight of the Ghana Premier League, with Henry Ansu receiving a red card from the referee immediately after his team conceded a goal in the first half.
Prosper Narteh emphasized that there was no indiscipline in his team and that players have the right to express their concerns about the referee’s decisions.
“There is no indiscipline in my team. When incidents happen, players have the right to complain” he said after the game.
“If a player comes to complain and the referee feels he doesn’t have the right to, then pours his anger on the player and gives him a red card, then it’s up to you to judge,” Prosper Narteh said.
Asante Kotoko experienced a 1-0 defeat against Nsoatreman on Thursday, and Prosper Narteh will be aiming to get back on the winning track in their next game when they face Dreams FC in the league.
