Experienced Ghanaian coach, Bashir Hayford has warned the Ghana Football Association to refrain from appointing an expatriate to lead its technical directorate.
The former Somalia head coach argues that the position is not ‘construction of bridges’ which demands whiteman’s knowledge that Ghanaian coaches cannot do.
Speaking in an interview with Isaac Ganyo Tamakloe, the ex- Asante Kotoko and Ashantigold SC tactician insisted that the job should be given to a Ghanaian trainer.
“Is the work for Ghanaian people or whiteman, is it a construction of bridges which need whitemen from abroad or what? He qizzed.
He added that ‘’the job is for Ghanaians and there are so many qualified people in Ghana, but it depends on the Football Association to decide who they want to be in charge
‘’But if they decide not to give it to you, what will you say? You don’t have anything to say”, he argued.
“We Ghanaian coaches are nobody to the FA, we won’t talk again. I mean they have done it already, so why should I talk, talking will not bring it back, so you will waste your breath. It will show them disrespect. That’s all. We will not talk, me, I will not talk. In this case, what I mean is that, it is not something which demands Whiteman’s technology.
‘’It is not like building bridge on the sea that Ghanaians don’t have knowledge, so you will bring someone outside to come and do it”, he concluded
