Former Ghana international Adu-Tutu Skelley believes ‘standard and quality of Ghana league has fallen’ and that football in the country isn’t attractive anymore as seen previously.
The former King Faisal and Ghana U 20 star argues the quality of players in the Ghana Premier League has declined drastically with no creativity in the current crop of players.
”The standard and quality of our league has fallen. Ghana football is not attractive again because you cannot see the talents when you go to the stadium. There is no creativity. The only thing you see is control and pass. You can’t see the talents both in our league and our national teams as compared to our time. ”the former intelligent midfielder said on Kumasi based Abusua FM.
”We used to go to the stadium and watch players like Joe Debra and Shamo Quaye but you can’t see such a talent in the country.”
He concluded” Also the leadership is not performing and it is one of the reasons our football is sinking.”
Tutu, 33, was the fans-favourite at the 1999 CAF African Youth Championship which was won on home soil.
His halcyon era was a period marked by the glorious days of Italian trainer Giuseppe Dossena who built a fine Ghana side through youth development and an eye for success.
Tutu’s second-half appearances for the Ghana U20 side at the Ghana 99 Youth Championship earned him the tag a super-sub.
However, despite his precocious exploits at youth level, the former King Faisal star was unable to meet expectations at the senior level for Ghana as he faded out scene – being limited to Austrian.
