Swansea City manager Paul Clement has confirmed the Premier League side has made a cash plus player for offer for Aston Villa’s Ghanaian striker, Jordan Ayew.
The Welsh club are poised to complete a deal which will see them pay Villa £5million for the £9million-rated Ghana international, with 27-year-old Taylor also included as part of the transfer.
Ayew, who has scored ten goals since joining Villa from Lorient in the summer of 2015, is one of several players boss Steve Bruce was prepared to offload during the January window.
Wales international Taylor will meanwhile provide competition for Jordan Amavi in the Villa left-back position as they midlands club seek to get their Championship campaign back on track.
Addressing the media on Monday, Swans boss Paul Clement confirmed that the deal is close to being completed.
“It is not yet done but it is close to being done,” he said.
“Neil has been a great servant to this club [Swansea City] but feels it is the right time for a new challenge and he would like to take it, and we get a young offensive talent who will add to what we have.
“Ayew can play wide or through the middle and I like that versatility”, he concluded.
Jordan Ayew is currently with the Black Stars of the Ghana in ongoing African Cup of Nations in Gabon.
