Dreams FC’s rising star, Abdul Aziz Issah, has voiced his opinion on the difficulty of playing in the Ghana Premier League compared to African inter-club competitions.
The 18-year-old sensation has been a standout performer for the Still Believe lads in the ongoing CAF Confederations Cup, contributing four goals and two assists as Dreams FC edges closer to qualification for the quarterfinals.
Currently leading the table with 12 points, Dreams FC is just one step away from advancing to the next stage of the competition.
In an interview, the Ghanaian prodigy expressed his belief that playing in the Ghana Premier League poses greater challenges than the Confederations Cup, attributing this to the conditions of the pitches in the country.
“The Ghana Premier League is tough than the Africa campaign. You are able to excel in Africa because there are good pitches out there but the narrative in different in Ghana. You are unable to play good football in Ghana because of bad pitches and sometimes referees. To me, the Ghana league is more difficult than the Confederations Cup”
The team will take on Rivers United on Sunday, March 3, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo at 3pm.
