Karela United are currently 6th on the Ghana Premier League table on 34 points – five points adrift league leaders Medeama but the Anyinase-based side have surprisingly dropped level.
Many had even considered them to repeat the feat of Aduana Stars, Berekum Chelsea, Wa All Star in 2010, 2011 and 2016 respectively by winning a maiden league title.
But that would not be the case for Karela United and their problems all started after the 2-0 home defeat by Asante Kotoko. That big game lost on home soil was the beginning of their current struggles as they are winless in the past 5 games.
In that game former Karela player Ibrahim Imoro and Kwame Opoku scored for the Porcupine Warriors – a defeat that seemed to have had a toll on the mental strength of the Anyinase boys. Things are going bad now.
The team of Evans Adottey has picked just 3 points from possible 15 in those five matches representing one of their worst ever spells.
What is happening?
Ashantigold picked a point at Anyinase in 1-1 game and Hearts of Oak did same.
Diawisie Taylor is no more scoring the goals and Kwame Boateng has also stagnated.
