The vice-captain of the Black Meteors Danlad Ibrahim claims they are aware of what victory against Morocco at the ongoing U-23 Africa Cup of Nations would mean for Ghana.
Ibrahim Tanko’s side will be targeting a semi-final slot in the competition after their opening-day victory over Congo on Sunday afternoon where Emmanuel Yeboah and Ernest Nuamah were on the scoresheet in a five-goal thriller.
In their quest for a final-four slot, Ghana comes up against host nation Morocco on Tuesday. Morocco won their first game in the commotion as well, coming from behind to beat Guinea 2-1.
Speaking to the press ahead of Tuesday’s game, the Black Meteors goalkeeper revealed the team is aware of the importance of the game against Morocco.
“We know what is at stake tomorrow. If we win, we qualify to the next stage of the competition,” he said.
“So, we will just learn from our mistakes from the previous game. We will go all out and concentrate for 90 minutes and we know we will win.”
A win for Ghana will see them take a three-point lead at the top of Group A ahead of the final game against Guinea.
