Former Legon Cities (formerly Wa All Stars) midfielder, Kelvin Matthew Kelvin Andoh and Douglas Owusu Ansah, have both reported Asante Kotoko to the Professional Association of Ghana (PFAG) for ‘unfair treatment’ over their contract termination issues.
According to Oyerepa FM, both players have been declared surplus to requirement by head coach Maxwell Konadu ahead of the 2020/21 season.
The reports further stated that though both players are yet to be officially communicated, they have been taken off the club’s official WhatsApp page by the instruction of the Team Manager Ohene Brenya.
Douglas Owusu, who was one of the club’s poster boy under Steven Polack went ahead to signed a four-year deal in 2017, but his father, Douglas Owusu Ansah Snr is reported to be unhappy with the treatment being given to his son and has resorted to reporting them to the body responsible for player’s welfare in the country.
Mathew Andoh, on the other hand, has two years left on his contract with the Kumasi-based club but is likely to leave before the start of the new season.
Reports in the local media indicate that he was expected to receive his letter from the club’s Administrative Manager Emmanuel Dasoberi but he made them aware he is yet to have formal discussions with the CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah.
Not happy with the latest turn out of event, Andoh has also reported the Porcupine Warriors to PFAG, hoping his concerns are addressed.
Meanwhile, Evans Owusu, Abass, together with Richard Arthur and Sam Adams, have all been removed from the club’s official WhatsApp group.
