Ghanaian international, Daniel Kofi Kyereh dazzled in FC St Pauli’s comfortable win over Sandhausen in the German Bundesliga 2 on Wednesday evening with two brilliant goals and a beautiful assist.
The Ghanaian forward played full throttle for his team as they brush aside their opponents 3-1 to return to the summit of the German second-tier league with 29 points from 14 matches.
Despite a blistering start to the game from the home team, it was rather the visitors who registered the first attempt on goal with just 30 seconds on the clock only for goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj tipped Testroet’s overhead kick.
On the other hand, the host, FC St Pauli’s first attempt on goal ended up in the back of the net, and what a strike it was! Finn Ole Becker dinked the ball over the top for Daniel-Kofi Kyereh to chase, and his backheel just short of the byeline found the big striker, Guido Burgstaller, who curled a delightful shot from the right-hand edge of the box into the top-left corner to make it One-nil after just one minute and 54 seconds!
Burgstaller nearly added the second goal for the home team, this time from the other side of the box, had SVS keeper Patrick Drewes not pushed the ball over the crossba.
The Ghanaian moments later was the next St Pauli player to try his luck from a Burgstaller pass but ended up screwing his shot badly off target but few minutes later, Kyereh was able to celebrate his first goal on the night as Smith sent Marcel Hartel on his way down the left and his cutback was converted by the former Wiesbaden man, who slid in close to the penalty spot to make it 2-0.
The outstanding game between the two teams remained a one very much one-way traffic, with Sandhausen pinned back in their own half due to the excessive pressure from the home team. Makienok pulled the trigger from the edge of the area, but Drewes hung on.
Onthe 79thmminutes Mark and with 11 minutes left on the clock to play, a perfectly executed move involving Irvine, Burgstaller, Matanović and Kyereh ended with the Ghanaian international who slid the ball past Drewes to make it 3-1 to the home team 12 minutes after the visitors pulled one back.
The 25-year-old playmaker has five goals and eight assists in 14 matches this season in the Germany Bundesliga 2 for the Boys in Brown.
