Asante Kotoko striker, Albert Amoah, is optimistic about the club’s ability to challenge for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title despite the team undergoing a significant overhaul.
The 22-year-old forward was the hero in Kotoko’s 1-0 victory over Karela United on Sunday, scoring the only goal in their season opener at the Naa Sherigaa Sports Complex in Nalerigu.
Amoah, one of the more than 12 new signings for the Porcupine Warriors, believes that despite the team’s new look, they are capable of competing for the top spot.
“When you look at the team, it is like a team that has been together for a long time,” Amoah told the club’s media team. “Looking at the quality that we have, seriously we are capable of winning the Ghana Premier League this season.”
Asante Kotoko signed Amoah from Great Olympics, now a Division One side, as part of a major rebuild after releasing over 20 players at the end of the previous season.
With their first win under their belt, the Porcupine Warriors aim to build momentum as they seek to reclaim the league title.
