The fire-spitting football administrator has sounded a warning that he and his protege will deal mercilessly with any media personnel who may be fond of casting slurs recklessly on the next FA boss
New Edubiase CEO Abdul Salam Yakubu has vowed to ruthlessly deal with any journalist who will be firing diatribes against the new Ghana FA president.
The outspoken football administrator was left fuming at the manner in which some quarters of the media succeeded in maliciously denting the hard-won reputation of the erstwhile FA capo with all sorts of allegations that hinged on corruption during his era.
According to the tough-talking bankroller of the “Yenko nkoaa’ outfit, he and his newly formed thugs will not sit aloof for the same treatment to be meted out to the next GFA boss and will do everything humanly possible to protect his reputation in order to safeguard the integrity of the sporting discipline in the west African football-loving nation.
A highly incensed Yakubu described the said journalists as “weed smokers and drunkards” who can’t even afford a shirt for themselves and have got the gut to go berserk against football administrators but for his colleagues.
“lf a new Ghana FA president ascends the throne and l haven’t stopped running football as we have formed a new thug… should those weed and drunkards journalists who have succeeded in ruining the life of Kwesi Nyantakyi will continue to destroy football with their acerbic utterances, they will realize where the power lies as they will know that we have real men in this country. We shall all drink from the same cup of water and one bottle of coca cola,” the firebrand bankroller fired in an interview aired on Kumasi-based Angel FM
He continued: ” Even a common football boot, some of these rascals journalists can’t afford and to even buy a shirt for themselves. And these same people will sit on their radios and televisions to cast slurs recklessly on we the football administrators as if we are animals,”
“All these chaotic circumstances was caused by [us]. Today there are some presenters who are on the payroll of some football administrators. They give them money for them to champion their differences against their rivals. lf you hand a player to these journalists to even cater for, they can’t and these same people will be insulting us in Ghana here,”
“But if the next FA president is elected, we shall make sure that we give him the maximum protection with regards to these slurs from those media fond of doing so.”
