West Ham midfielder Andre Dede Ayew has assured Ghanaians that the Black Stars will give everything to get the best result in the crucial meeting with Egypt.
The stand-in skipper has called on the rank and file of this nation to rally their support behind the team as they seek to avoid a defeat on Sunday. The Black Stars have not enjoyed the best patronage since the 2014 Brazil world cup and the 26-year-old midfielder believes the prayers and support of Ghanaians will go a long to influence the outcome of the encounter with Egypt.
Speaking in the team’s Qatar base, the former under 20 skipper gave Ghanaians the assurance that his team will leave no stone unturned in the match. Dede promised Ghanaians with a 100% committed game from the Stars who need to avoid a lose to stand a chance of making a fourth successive world cup
“We are going to give everything in this game. We don’t the outcome but we are going to give 100% to make sure we get something positive from the game. We want Ghanaians to pray and support us and we will give out our best. We need the support of Ghanaians to pluck a minimum one point here”. Dede apprised
Dede went on to downplay statements by the Egyptian press that the Stars are weakened team without skipper Asamoah Gyan. According to Dede, he and his colleagues have nothing to prove to the Egyptians but will show them that the Black Stars is a formidable side without their charismatic and inspirational leader who missed out due to injury
” we have nothing to prove to the Egyptians. What they say,is their problem. We met them in world cup qualifier and we humiliated them. We are here to play football and whatever they say doesn’t bother us”.
With vengeance on their minds, the Egyptians will be seeking to pay back the humiliation handed them by the Black Stars during the 2014 world cup qualifiers.
