Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku has described as unfortunate the posture former black stars coach Kwasi Appiah has taking in retrieving his unpaid salaries.
Appiah, who was on a US$35,000 monthly salary when in charge of the Black Stars, is demanding for his unpaid wages for six months from August 2019 to December 2019 amounting 185,000 dollars.
There are reports that the former Al Watani trainer is considering a legal tussle with the FA through his lawyers after the football Association failed to respond to a demand notice giving them.
But speaking on the issue for the first time on Sports Check with host Daniel Oduro, Kurt Okraku who admits it his singular prerogative to go public, insists Appiah should know better with the processes involved since he is not the only one owed .
“It’s most unfortunate honestly speaking; I would not want the FA or for that matter the government to come into the public space in that manner”
“Indeed we initiated the processes, everybody know including Kwesi Appiah know the processes that’s are involved “
“He know the FA engaged him but the FA doesn’t pay his salaries ,it’s the ministry of youth and sports that’s is responsible for the payment of salaries of all of our national teams coaches and they do it via the sponsorship from GNPC so it’s a bit of a like triangle so there are processes one has to go through at times it delays and at times it does end quickly“ he told Daniel Oduro on Sports Check.
